Primary research: analysis of general and demographic questions
The next section is an analysis of the information I got from my first cybersecurity research, which I did on Google Forms. Different groups of people from my university did the survey. The goal of this survey was to find out what people know about cyber security and to ask them some general questions about cyber security.
The first question on the survey is about "gender identity." In answer to this question, I can tell you that most of the people who filled out the survey are men. This is shown in the pie chart below, where men are shown in blue and women are shown in red. Of the people who took part, 57.1% were men and 42.9% were women.
Similarly, the second question in the survey was, "What is cybersecurity?" The options were protecting software, protecting operating systems, protecting Internet users from fraud , and all the above. The responses were 50% of the participants chose “all the above”, 21.4% chose “Protect Internet users from fraud” and 14.3% chose “Protect operating systems”. This indicates that the majority of the participants believe that all options express cyber security for them.
Similarly, the third question was "Which software security company do you prefer?". According to the answers given by the participants, 42.9% chose "McAfee", 21.4% chose "Astra Security", 21.4% chose "Avast" and 14.3% chose "Symantec".
According to the information in the pie chart below, most of the people who took this survey were between the ages of 18 and 24, while only a few were over 40.
In the end, we can see that most of the people who filled out the survey were men under the age of 24.
